Blog post #3 CWJ
After visiting The Holocaust Memorial Museum today it has really given faces and names, (literally) to the people who experienced these horrible events. I did not know how the survivors made it through, and after meeting one survivor and listening to the story of another's from a family member, (Thank you Ms. Randi!) it is clear to me that it differs between people. One of the stories I heard had to do with smuggling in valuables to bribe the Nazis to keep them safe in addition to being hidden by a christian family. the other story had to do with smarts, instinct and going with your gut. No matter what the story is, I'm in awe and it inspires me to always persevere, and that love and happiness will always find a way to break through even if there are many losses and much sorrow. That is what I took away from this museum and that is what I wanted to take away.-Carter

I also was very interested when listening to the survivors stores. Yes, love and happiness will always break through and help you to keep going. I also don't know how people survived this tragic event. But i sure am glad some did. Nice post.
ReplyDeleteCarter,
ReplyDeleteI really liked that you included remarks about the survivor stories. One of the most interesting pieces of the museum to me, was when we were able to speak in person to a survivor. The stories I heard made the Holocaust very real and I like that you included that in your post. I have a few questions for you after reading your post. 1) What did you find the most interesting out of all the stories? 2) What did you think of the Armenian genocide? Great job!

Hello Carter,
ReplyDeleteI definitely agree with The point that you were making in your post. When you incorporated little pieces of some of the people's stories it is just so sad to think that all of these people had to do unimaginable things to stay alive. Overall you did a fantastic job.
Carter,
ReplyDeleteI was also intrigued by the stories of the survivors. I thought it was interesting that you included their stories. Your points really made me think.
