Learning about genocide and our study of genocide has changed me by showing me the experience and perception of others and what they had to go through to survive or not. It has made me feel incredibly sad and struck in a certain way by how people treated other human beings. I perceive humanity differently now after learning about this with the feeling of fortune not to have been involved with such a violent event and sorrow. What I will take away from this unit is to never forget the people that were affected by this unfortunate event and the emotion of fortune and sorrow. The reason why I won't forget the emotion of grief/sorrow is because of the detail expressed in the holocaust museum. All the people who lost their lives and the conditions they lived in. That will always stick with me. As I continue on into life I will never forget this unit because of the powerful detail exposed to me based on other people's lives and how they lived. What was really powerful to me in the holocaust museum was seeing the shoes and the conditions they lived in. The inhumanity and cruelty was really upsetting to me. But I felt good after I lit a candle to remember this event and all of the people who lost their lives.
