As a I read this novel that is named “Night”, I feel very sad and heartbroken. It really hurts me how people had been very cruel back then and people that are cruel in today's world. I wish that Jews didn’t have to suffer with pain and that they could’ve lived peacefully back then. Even today I wish that all human beings today can live peacefully, but people don’t care and they are full of hatred and discrimination towards others. “The news is terrible,” he said at last. And then one word: “Transports”(13.) This particular passage from my perspective was very poignant because the Jews had to be taken away from their own homes, and they didn’t have choice. Basically there were forced out by policemen, and the policemen were full of greed because they wanted to have power over them and to control them. “Remember it always, let it be graven in your memories. You are in Auschwitz. And Auschwitz is not a convalescent home. It is a concentration camp. Here, you must work. If you don’t you will go straight to the chimney. To the crematorium. Work or crematorium-the choice is yours” (38-39.)  When I read this passage I felt shocked, devastated and plaintive. The Jews were threatened or killed if they didn’t do something that they were told to do, and they were involved with a lot of danger. From what I can see is that the author wrote in very superb way to bring you into the story. I like the language choices that the other chose because there isn’t swearing at this point of the book.
