Tears in the Snow

My body too skinny
My throat too dry
You said be brave
I don't know how much longer
I can try

Bodies lay dead
No one cares
Feet are bleeding
Walk on or be gone

We march
Faster faster
Along the dirt road
Nothing remains but
Tears in the snow

Soup and bread
That's all that we get
A teaspoon of water
Will soon disappear
But will then return
With all of our
Tears

Times running out
Save us
Please
you promised

  1. Hi Sam! I really loved reading your poem! Everything fits together perfectly and it all flows really well. The one part that caught me off guard was the ending. It was such a loud statement, that it stood out from everything else to a point where it just sticks with you. I felt as though whoever you intended to be narrating this was begging to be saved. To be taken away from what they were forced into. This was an amazing poem! Great work!
