Hitler made it clear that he will annihilate all the Jews before the clock strikes twelve
It was only a matter of hours
I had never thought it possible
Where is God ?
he is here hanging from the gallows
Perhaps the russians will arrive before…
We knew perfectly well they would not
I was saying goodbye to my father
Never shall I forget those flames
Those flames that consumed my faith forever
This is what the antechamber of hell must look like
Some of us were crying
In front of me
I had not even blinked
So much brutality

  2. Dear Owen,
All of your sentences blended together perfectly. It was almost like it was part of the memoir Night. Just great.
    Great work!

  4. Whoops, accidentally posted with my personal account. I don't even know how I posted it through my personal account, it shouldn't let me do that, but any way, here's the comment.
Dear Owen, I really liked your poem! Yours is one of the few that combines a coherent plot line with beautiful imagery. Your poem creates a picture in the head of the reader that allows them to interact with the writing in an entirely new depth. I find that with imagery, a poem becomes much more powerful emotionally. Cheers! Ethan.
